Meet Dr. Margaret “Peggy” Scott

Dr. Peggy Scott Shares Why She Became a Dentist & Why it's Rewarding

Dr. Scott always pictured herself working in the medical field. A native of Rochester, MN, Dr. Scott attended Rochester Community College and University of Wisconsin–Stout, graduating from Stout with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. So if you have a question about how diet can affect your dental health, Dr. Scott is the woman to address it!

The switch from dietetics to dentistry came after Dr. Scott met a dentist who showed her how dentistry fused medicine, health care, engineering, and art into one. Her passion is creating healthy, beautiful smiles for every person who walks into the office.

Dr. Scott graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 1994 and has been improving smiles at Lakeside Dentistry ever since. She believes it’s important to listen to her patients, achieve a proper diagnosis, and provide education and the best treatment options possible. Oftentimes, there is more than one way to fix a problem. Her underlying treatment philosophy is simple: “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.”

Dr. Scott’s favorite part of her job is when patients are so satisfied with their treatment that they refer their friends and family to Lakeside Dentistry so she can improve their smiles, too.

Outside of work, Dr. Scott enjoys snowshoeing in the winter and gardening in the summer. She and her husband, Kenny, enjoy attending their children’s wrestling and drumline activities.
